Corral Creek Campground is a free primitive dispersed camping area along the Kern River.

Easy to find as it is set just opposite the highway from the Corral Creek Lodge, campers at the free campground have the benefit of being able to visit the lodge for ice and food.

The campground is a large flat gravel area, where campers are welcome to set up their tent at any place they find agreeable. With only a single tree, there is one prime spot beneath it, and the rest of the camp spots are similarly exposed to the sun. A signed short dirt trail leads down a slope to the Kern River.

There is no water available at Corral Creek. The only amenities are a single vault toilet structure and trash can. There are no tables or fire pits. Corral Creek is a no frills campground, however it remains open year round. The campground is an 8.8 mile drive from the town of Kernville, where there are numerous restaurants, markets and gas stations.

Corral Creek operates strictly on a first come, first served basis. Dogs are permitted on leash in the camping area but are not allowed on the river beach.
