Dakota's View Trail is a relatively hidden single track path that leads on a scenic walk past a neighborhood before climbing a steep path to a hilltop with panoramic views. At slightly less than a mile in each direction, the hike packs a scenic punch into its relatively short distance.

Beginning behind a trail marker on a quiet public road, the trail follows a narrow dirt track that climbs and drops between a line of homes and a sloped green area. The trail is often used by equestrians as many of the homes around here have spacious yards and horses. Though you'll more than likely find yourself alone on this quiet path.

The trail follows a wave of climbs and drops as it wraps around a hill, with the El Modena Open Space Trail becoming visible across the street. One final steep scramble up a rocky path brings hikers to the panormic point, where views in every direction stretch into the distance.

From this point, hikers can retrace their route to the trailhead, or descend and cross the street to enter a further trail network.

Hikers should be aware that these trails can be muddy or overgrown, depending on the season. There are no amenities or improvements of any kind along the length of the hike. Much of the trail is exposed to sun and wind.
