Deukmejian Wilderness Park is a 709-acre area in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. It features a large paved parking area, covered picnic tables, bathroom facilities, potable water, and access to a variety of hiking trails. The park features trails that are accessible to all levels from short, easy nature walks to long, strenuous climbs. The area consists mostly of chaparral, manzanita, yucca, sage, and various desert scrub. 

The park is situated more than 2,000 feet above sea level and features scenic views overlooking Griffith Park and the Los Angeles Basin. 

The park is the perfect location for locals to enjoy some peaceful nature and escape the hustle and bustle of the city below.

HOURS OF OPERATION: 6:00 a.m.  - 1 hour after sunset

PARKING

The park is open from sunrise to dusk, make sure you do not leave a car in the parking area past sunset or it will get locked inside.

REGULATIONS

  • Dogs are allowed but must be kept on leash.

  • Bikes are allowed, however, helmets are required for all cyclists.
