The Eagle Trail is a flat multi-use path that circles the large reservoir at the center of Vacaville's Lagoon Valley Park.

While the eastern portion of the trail traverses the park grounds, passing other features such as the dog park, disc golf course, archery range, RC airplane range, covered picnic benches and other park trails, the western portion making up the other half of the hike follows a course that lies alone between the lagoon and the freeway in the near distance.

With its central location, walkers and hikers can expect to see a fair number of other trail users while out on their hike. They can also expect to see the waterfowl that make the reservoir their home, and the grassy wide landscapes making up a scenic backdrop to the hike. The trail itself it pretty featureless, as only a few picnic benches punctuate the western portion of the gravel trail.

Under dry conditions, bicycles and strollers can easily use the trail. A small narrow footbridge with a step is the only notable exception to the flat trail, which crosses the reservoir's outflow. Horses are permitted along the trail, however are not permitted on the bridge.

Parking inside Lagoon Valley Park requires a $5 day use parking fee, and visitors are subject to park rules and hours. As of 2024, Lagoon Valley Park is open daily from 7am to 5pm.

Updates and park rules can be found at the Vacaville Parks page.
