Henninger Flats Campground is a first come first serve campground located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.  This spacious campground offers scenic views of the city while being tucked away in a pine forest. It is easily accessible for people coming from Los Angeles and the surrounding metropolitan area.

From Altadena, it is a 3-mile one-way hike up the Mount Wilson Toll Road. The campground features a visitor information center and tree nursery operated by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and has about thirty first-come first-serve sites available year-round at no charge.

The campsites at Henninger Flats are spread out amongst three tiers: Lower Campground, Upper Campground, and Fuji Campground. These tiered campsites offer plenty of spacious and private sites. The area attracts day hikers, backpackers, and mountain bikers. This is a great area to spend the day and have a picnic if you are not looking for an overnight adventure.

For more information please contact the Henninger Flats visitors center at (626) 794-0675 or contact the Angeles National Forest at (626) 574-1613.
