Pigeon Flat Campground is a small walk-in campground along the Stanislaus River on the Sonora Pass.

The 9 site campground sits on a small flat pitch of land beside the river, however over a few of those sites are set on level ground. The rest of the sites are set a little higher up the sloped landscape, each offering a lot more shade and privacy, however campers must contend with the slightly off-leval ground to pitch their tents on.

The campground is unsigned from Highway 108, however is in the same area as the signed Columns of the Giants Geologic Area. Upon entering this area, campers can turn left and follow the short gravel road to its end at a gate. Campers will need to park and register here, and then walk about a quarter mile down a level dirt path to reach the campground.

Campsites are restricted to first come, first served.

While built and operated as a Forest Service campground, Pigeon Flat is new under the management of the Dodge Ridge Corporation. The camp site remains basic, with each site having only a picnic bench and fire pit. There is a good amount of distance, however no barriers, between neighboring sites. There is also no water of any kind at the campground, so campers should come prepared.

A single vault toilet outhouse serves the campground.

At 6000' in elevation, Pigeon Flat Campground and Highway 108 in this section typically close during winter conditions each year. April to October is a general estimate as to the campground's operating season.
