Salt Creek Day Use Area and Campground is a primitive area within the Salton Sea State Recreation Area where the Salt Creek flows to the inland sea.

The spacious area is made of flattened hardpan gravel and sand, which can support cars, trailers and RVs under normal conditions. A handful of tables and pit grills line the edges of the area, with the waters of the Salton Sea located a close distance away.

Differing from some nearby campgrounds which are paved and have actual bathrooms, Salt Creek Campground generally stays pretty quiet. Those looking to embrace the Mojave Desert's vastness and sense of solitude will enjoy this space, as only the sounds of the occasional cars on the adjacent highway and trains running down the nearby tracks break up the sound of wind and birds over the desert sea basin.

A few interpretive signs are the only improvements aside from the outhouse and water spigot. Dogs are permitted leashed in the camping area, but are not permitted on the shores of the sea.

Campers and day use visitors can pay at a self pay station at the area's entrance - Day use fees are $7 per vehicle and camping is $10 per night.
