The Sycamore Canyon Trail is a 1.1 mile roundtrip out-and-back trail with two distinct sections that can be accessed from the far end of Sycamore Canyon Park.

The lower section follows a shaded trail through an environment of sycamore, walnut and oak trees alongside a small stream. At just a quarter mile up the dirt path sits an observation deck and a couple benches perched beside the waterfall. The stream slows to a near trickle throughout and following the warm season. Reaching the end of the shaded trail, the path gives way to an exposed slope with a steep flight of wooden steps leading to the top of the mesa. Here the dirt path follows a small loop with exercise equipment and a couple exposed areas in the hillside shrubs where views of the city of Diamond Bar below and the San Gabriel Mountains in the distance are visible.

There are several benches and a couple picnic benches up here, as well as plants and cactus more suited for the sunny and arid environment which is a big change from the canyon shade trees further down.

The trail is short, but good for a peaceful walk as well as a short burst of climbing and exercise.

Sycamore Canyon Park has bathrooms and water fountains, shaded picnic benches, playgrounds and spacious lawn areas. The park and parking area is open a half hour before sunrise to a half hour after sunset.
