The Wisdom Tree Loop is a 3-mile loop in Griffith Park, located near Los Angeles, California. Combining double and singletrack trails, the route ascends rugged terrain with chaparral-covered hillsides and traverses rocky ridgelines with panoramic views.

This route passes close to the Hollywood Sign and overlooks Universal Studios and the Los Angeles Basin. Views include the Verdugo Mountains, San Gabriel Mountains, and Santa Monica Mountains, as well as Hollywood Reservoir and the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular running and hiking destination for both locals and tourists, but this route tends to have more sections that are less crowded.

DIRECTIONS

Walk up Wonder View Drive and ascend the Burbank Peak Trail. Once you reach the top of the climb, make a right onto Aileen Getty Ridge Trail / Wonder View Trail and continue for a little less than half a mile (if you have reached Cahuenga Peak you’ve gone too far). Turn left and descend down to the Power Line Trail. Turn left at the Power Line Trail which will bring you back to the Burbank Peak Trailhead.

CONSIDERATIONS

  • Be sure to bring plenty of water.

  • Minimal shade along the route.

  • Some sections are steep and rocky.

WATER

The trail is dry and exposed. Prepare for warm conditions, especially in the summer months and make sure to bring plenty of water and carry it with you.
