Lynn Canyon Park is located on a stretch of Lynn Creek that cuts through the steep slopes of North Vancouver. Here the creek's high water flows have carved a deep canyon into the landscape over thousands of years, and the canyon now provides an urban oasis enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. One of the highlights of the area is a great swimming hole known as 30 Foot Pool, where a narrow section of bedrock canyon opens up into a boulder garden, resulting in a deep beautiful pool with cold clean water and fantastic swimming at low water levels. The canyon is a popular summertime tourist destination, and the pool, being the most accessible swimming spot nearby, is often extremely busy, particularly during warm weather and on weekends.

To get to 30 Foot Pool, walk across the suspension bridge from the parking lot, take the first left heading upstream toward the Pipeline Bridge, and hike only about 10 minutes up the trail until you reach the pool just before the trail starts to climb up again as the canyon narrows.

A quick Google search will reveal that Lynn Canyon has recently become a famous destination for adrenaline junkies for its cliff jumping opportunities, but signage on the way down to the pool has been installed to remind visitors that more than a few thrill-seekers have been seriously injured or lost their lives here. Cliff jumping is inherently dangerous, but it is even more so in a place like this with so much variability. The name "30 Foot Pool" is a reference to the depth of the water, which varies with flows and by location, so cliff jumping is not recommended.
