When most adults think of summer in the outdoors, they likely think of pristine mountain lakes, coolers of beer by the river, and tranquility away from the chaos of daily life. When kids think of summer in the outdoors, they think of places like Cultus Lake. Which isn't  to say Cultus Lake doesn't have something for those of all ages, because it does in its way, but Cultus Lake is certainly oriented to fulfill every kid's outdoor dreams: swimming in the lake, go-carts, waterpark with enormous water slides, miniature golf, bumper boats, jet skiing, and much, much more.

Located 10 kilometers south of Chilliwack in the foothills of the Skagit Range, Cultus Lake is at most an hour and a half drive from Vancouver.

Once school gets out for summer and particularly on weekends, Cultus Lake draws families from the Lower Mainland by the thousands. One of its epicenters and its main swimming spot is Cultus Lake Park and Main Beach, located on the far north shore of the lake. Here, a 400-meter-long network of swimming docks extends out into the shallow and relatively warm waters of the lake, a sandy (somewhat gravely) beach extends for 225 meters, paddle boats can be rented, and there are restroom facilities, picnic shelters, and a playground.

Note: Dogs, pets, and alcohol are not permitted within Cultus Lake Park and Main Beach. For any details on the park contact the Park Board Office at 604.858.3334.
