Gold Creek Campground is one of three major campgrounds in Golden Ears Provincial Park. During the summer months the park draws in many weekend and summer holiday guests, which can make getting a reservation very difficult. Gold Creek Campground is the only one of the three that has year-round camping, as the other two close in September for the winter season.

The park has many activities that also draw in outdoor enthusiasts of all types, from lounging at the lake to mountaineering and hiking. The campground is surrounded by Gold Creek to the north and Alouette Lake just to the east, and both are within walking distance from the campground.

The campground has 148 sites that are all drive-up sites, but none of them have RV hookups. The sites that are on Trillium Drive are the best due to the proximity to the access trails and better privacy. Each area of the campground has pit toilets close to all the individual sites, and there are also a few buildings with indoor toilets and showers. While the campground is open year round, sites may only be reserved for some dates in May and the months of June through September.

Just outside the campground is a concession stand that is open during the summer months for emergency needs, because the campground is quite far from any other stores. The seclusion also means that there is little to no cell service and no pay phones in the park.
