Just north of Porpoise Bay Provincial Park on the Sunshine Coast there is a piece of land populated by some very old, very large trees that has been saved for locals and tourists to use and enjoy. Until very recently, Hidden Grove had only been a random series of trails amidst trees that were slated for logging before local residents spoke up to protect the land. From this effort the Sechelt Groves Society was born and a park was created.

Trail builders created over 11 kilometers of trails that take you through the park to see all that it has to offer. From the parking area and kiosk there is a well marked trail map for guidance through the park. There are a few trails from here that are wheelchair and walker/stroller accessible. The trails take you through lush green forests and right to the base of the giant ancient trees that seem to reach the sky.

The park has a few lookout points at some of its higher elevations, one of which allows you to see out over the ocean to Vancouver Island. Although the lookouts are a bit higher up, most of the trails are very easy and the climbs are quite gentle. Wildflowers or mushrooms are abundant depending on where and when you visit the park, but please stay on the trail and refrain from picking them out of respect for the sensitivity of this forest.

Hidden Groves actually boarders the Sechelt Heritage Forest, and trails that link the two together add another 5 to 6 kilometers of trail; these trails also link to Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. This allows access to all the trails right from the campground.
