Sully's Hangout is a small rock climbing crag that few people have heard of and fewer know how to reach. Tucked away from site in the Lynn Headwaters Park, the trail up to the crag diverts off of an official park trail (Lynn Peak Trail). There are no official signs, but local climbers have built cairns (rock piles) to signify the trailhead.

Once you've parked at the Lynn Headwaters parking area, cross the bridge and take the Lynn Loop Trail to the right to connect with the Lynn Peak Trail. The trail leading up to the crag is about 20 meters before the Lynn Peak / Lynn Loop intersection on the right hand side. Follow the steep dirt trail up for a few hundred meters and look up to see the wall.

Once there, you can get situated by identifying the North, Center and South wall areas. You'll find shorter slabby routes on the North Wall and longer tougher routes in the Center Wall and South Wall. Routes range from 5.8 to 5.12c with some projects not finished. All the routes are bolted for sport climbing and have chains or rings at each anchor. There is no access from the top down. The granite has a green algae look to it, but it has surprisingly good friction. Because the crag is below the forest canopy it stays shaded and can often remain dry in light rain.

The park gate closes just after sunset, but if you leave the crag before dark you will be fine. Whether you are climbing for a few hours after work or staying away from the crowds in Squamish, Sully's is a great place to hangout and get some climbing in.
