Lithia Spring is located a short drive away from downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado. To get to the spring follow 13th Avenue, then turn left onto Lithia Springs Road. Note that Lithia Spring is not a hot spring for soaking. If you want to soak check out nearby Hippie Hot Springs, Old Town Hot Springs, or Strawberry Park Hot Springs.

Lithia Spring is a unique spring to visit. A concrete walkway encircles the spring and there are some benches here to sit and relax.

The light blue, murky water is intriguing to look at. The waters contain a high content of lithium. The spring’s water was once considered “miracle water.” It was thought to be a treatment for a multitude of conditions including bipolar disorder.

In the early 1930s the spring was leased by a businessman who planned to bottle and sell the miracle water. He even constructed the spring’s stone entrance columns and built a ticket booth as he charged a fee to visit the spring.
