Mount Cutler is a peak located in North Cheyenne Cañon Park near Colorado Springs. A common way to access Mount Cutler is via the Mount Cutler Hiking Trail. This out and back hike is 1.7 miles long and gains 472 feet of elevation.

This hike starts from the Mount Cutler and Muscoco Trailhead off of N Cheyenne Canon Rd. There is a small parking area here. Begin hiking east on Mount Cutler Hiking Trail. You will be hiking uphill amongst trees. After 0.1 miles you will cross a bridge and continue on the trail. As you continue to hike uphill, you will enjoy periodic views of North Cheyenne Cañon below.

After 0.3 more miles, the trail turns to the south. Here, you will have views of the city of Colorado Springs. Continue uphill for 0.2 miles to reach a junction. Go left here to stay on Mount Cutler Hiking Trail. About 0.1 miles more of hiking will bring you to a great vantage point of Seven Falls along with many peaks in the foothills. Another 0.1 miles will bring you to another junction. Go left here. 0.1 more miles will bring you to the top of Mount Cutler. From here you will have spectacular views of the foothills and of North Cheyenne Cañon. There is a bench at the top. Once you have taken ample time to rest and enjoy the sights, turn around and retrace your steps to return to the trailhead.

North Cheyenne Cañon Park is open 5am-9pm from November through April. It is open from 5am-10pm from May through October. Dogs are allowed on this trail, but they must be on a leash. Hiking to the top of Mount Cutler is a great way for hiker to explore North Cheyenne Cañon Park.
