The Steamboat Springs Community Sledding Hill is a popular place for families and young children to spend a winter afternoon. The sledding hill is located near Howelsen Hill Ski Area, at the summer rodeo grounds. It is free to use and open to the public daily from 8am to 10pm.

While calling it a “hill” is a bit of a stretch, the sledding area is comprised of a 20-foot-high slope formed with help from the Howelsen Hill snowmaking team. The slope is groomed occasionally.

While the sledding hill won’t be enough to excite speed seeking teens, it provides enough of a thrill for younger kids and their families to enjoy.

Parking is free and plentiful nearby.
