Summit Lake Campground is located near Buffalo Pass and sits alongside the namesake lake at an elevation of 10,400 feet. The campground borders the Mount Zirkel Wilderness area where many pristine mountain lakes are just a short hike away. Of course Summit Lake is also a great option for fishing or paddling. There are also many roads and tracks outside of the wilderness that make for a perfect place to explore via ATV or dirt bike.

The campground offers 15 campsites, including 9 back-in sites and 6 walk-in tent sites. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. There are vault toilets within the campground, as well as trash service.

All campsites are first come, first served with no reservations possible. The current nightly fee is $10.

Summit Lake Campground is open seasonally, usually mid July through late October.
