This route is a 30.2-mile out-and-back across Xiamen, an island located on the southeastern coast of China. The route begins from the cruise terminal located northwest of Xiamen City and primarily follows the Mountains-To-Sea Trail, a popular route that is used by locals as well as tourists as a means for both transportation and recreation. The terrain is a mix of paved walkways and dirt paths.  It is also a crowded path with few opportunities for solitude.

People come to Xiamen to experience its culture and beautiful scenery. The Mountains-To-Sea Trail is an impressive part of Xiamen’s infrastructure and a great place to begin exploring the region's museums, parks, botanical gardens, and beaches.

The trail connects elevated footpaths and remarkable pedestrian bridges to create an impressive car-free corridor across the island. People can access the city, parks, forests, and mountains from the trail, which winds above freeways and traffic. The route takes you past scenic viewpoints, natural bodies of water, and beautiful temples.

It is easy to adjust the route and mileage depending on your interests and needs. As a thread through the city, visitors can choose their own adventure using the Mountains-To-Sea Trail as a jumping off point to explore existing trails and urban areas.

There are restrooms and service stations spread throughout the route in addition to a number of handicap accessible exits / entry points.
