The Savannah Ogeechee Canal Campground is a large open camping area set near the historical area of the canal.

With a nature center, gardens, historical displays, canoe rentals and peaceful shaded benches located just steps away, the campground is maintained to accommodate groups such as scouts and educational tours. Though the site is also available for tent campers - provided one of the group is a member.

The camping area has several benches, covered picnic area, water hose, ample space on an open grass field, and fire rings. Enclosed by forest, the Holly Trail begins at the far end of the campground, with the popular Savannah Ogeechee Canal Trail just a short distance away.

For tent camping, at least one party in the group needs to be a member of the Savannah Ogeechee Canal who operate the campground and educational programs. In addition, nightly camp fees apply. Full details and information can be found by emailing [email protected].
