Outdoor Project

The ultimate adventure guide

You'll find massive poplar trees along the Ramsey Cascades trail.
Footbridges make the more complicated water crossings a breeze to pass over.
You'll find interesting rock formations along the trail.
Near the beginning of the hike, you'll find plenty of relaxing water spots to hang out at.
When in the Smokies, you're in black bear country. Stay at least 150ft away from all wildlife and practice Leave No Trace, for your safety as well as theirs.
Take the sign serious. The last death was in 2017 and from a fall off of the cascades. Explore, have fun, but be cautious.
Ramsey Cascades
A water crossing just before the waterfall. Keep in mind that in heavy downpours or after days of rain, this area can become impassable.
A tucked away cascade on the Ramsey Cascades Trail.
You'll find fungi of all kinds along the Ramsey Cascades Trail.
Hearts-a-bustin is a common but very unique wildflower in the Smokies.
Be ready to climb. The hike to Ramsey is only 4 miles, but with plenty of rocks, steps and elevation gain.
