At cross section four, stay right to begin the Beckman Trail and follow the red blazes.

Close to the top of the mountain you will see a sign pointing you to a trail that continues to the top. Continue along to reach Brant Coal Mine.

After visiting the coal mine and enjoying the view, return back to the Beckman Trail and continue the loop by making a right. At the first cross trail after the mine you will see this sign.

The Beckman Trail ends at the road that goes around Deep Creek Lake. You can either follow it to the road and then walk along the road back to your car, or you can turn left onto Meadow Mountain Trail.
