These bears are new to fishing, and they were learning fast.

The bears of Katmai all have unique names and numbers. This one is 747—aptly named for his jumbo size. he was the alpha last season, and he was catching salmon for fun when others struggled.

A mama bear with her cubs. Bear 747 was right behind her, and as soon as she saw him approach the sow and her cubs fled. You cannot mess with 747.
