The boat ramp is frequently busy, so if you are launching it is courteous to do so beside the dock on the beach.

For the most part, the waters are calm as the inlet is well protected from all sides.

There are many beaches, so it's easy to hop out and take pit stops.

In the bay, you'll see plenty of activity, like this ocean barge loading timber. Be sure to give them ample space as they are not nearly as maneuverable as kayaks.

There is ample wildlife in the bay. Seals, otters, and eagles are very common. Sea lions visit seasonally as well.

As with all wildlife, keep 100 meters distance at all times. For context, that's a standard Olympic sprint.
