Outdoor Project

The ultimate adventure guide

The hike begins pleasantly enough, descending a set of stairs.
The trail peers down on the tops of rocky spires.
Huge views are the norm at Bryce Canyon.
Caves, bridges, windows, hoodoos, and numerous other geological points of interest blanket the earth at Bryce Canyon.
In the center of the photo lies the destination: the Hat Shop.
As the cliff edge erodes, trees struggle to hold the ground with their twisted roots.
Not all of Bryce Canyon is orange.
The occasional tree brings a little shade to the exposed trail.
Yellow flowers add a touch of color to the canyon.
The dry, sandy trail weaves down to the Hat Shop.
The hoodos with their balancing hats are visible beyond the stump, up the trail.
A surprising number of trees cling to life along the trail.
The Hat Shop amid Bryce Canyon's distinctive hoodoos.
Erosion-resistant cap-rocks sit on top of their sandstone pedestals at the Hat Shop.
A view of the many rock "hats" at the Hat Shop.
The trail traverses alongside the Hat Shop.
From the low point of the hike, you can look back up to the rim to see the many layers and folds of the canyon walls.
