Cooking is all done around a fire. Some sites don't have grills so it's advisable to bring your own if it is a necessary part of your cooking.

Dalles Rapids is an interesting section. There is a portage around this section of rapids, but they are fairly tame and depending on conditions suitable for novice paddlers.

Emerging in the Georgian Bay the wind picks up. There are numerous campsites here but only a couple are have enough trees to provide shelter from the constant wind.

Heading up from the Georgian Bay there are two short, but awkward portages. This is at the edge of the first. The Rocky ground makes it tricky to just haul the boats over.

Past this is a lovely narrow chanel.

This peaceful section is short but serene. The second portage is much shorter, and downhill and you can lift boats across it easily.
