As you approach this gate, the trail runs parallel to a gravel road.
At this gate, you cross the road.
The trail continuing after you cross the road. It can be hard to spot, but it's just to the left of the gate. Look for the wooden MDHT posts.

Follow the trail left to avoid dead-ending at the pond.
Take the trail left.
