Where to get it

The Bottom Line: Designed for women, Osprey's Tempest 30 daypack is a simple, lightweight, top-loading pack with many useful features. Weighing in at less than 2 pounds, this pack is perfect for a day hike or a lightweight overnight trip. The Tempest 30 is backed by Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee, which promises to cover repair for any defect or damage for any reason free of charge.

Osprey's Tempest 30 daypack is a 30-liter top-loading pack with a drawstring closure and a fixed top lid. There are two zippered pouches within the pack's top lid. The first is an easy-to-access pouch on the top rear of the lid for small and lightweight items. This pouch is great for storing things like gloves, snacks or a head lamp. The second zippered pouch can be found on the underside of the lid. This mesh pouch is smaller than the upper pouch, but it is good for storing things like a wallet, a cell phone, or any other small items needing quick access. It even has a small clip inside to attach your keys.

The pack's main compartment does not have any other pouches or storage pockets on the inside, and access to any items in the bottom of the pack can be quite a hassle to reach. Because of this, you will want to pack your least used items into the bottom of the pack while keeping your frequently used items near the top. On the front, outside of the pack, there is a large stretch mesh pocket for additional cargo storage. This mesh pocket has an adjustable strap that clips into the main body of the pack to secure your cargo. The Tempest 30 also has two mesh stretch pockets, one on each side, and each is capable of holding a water bottle. These side pockets have adjustable straps capable of tightening around anything stored in these pockets to secure the items to your pack.

Osprey designed the Tempest 30 daypack to be lightweight and versatile for multi-sport activities and travels. The pack's back panel is ventilated and designed to be comfortable while keeping you cool. The lumbar to hip belt wrap is seamless for added comfort. The hip belt also has a zipped pocket on each side for easy access to small items such as snacks or sunscreen. A large external pocket can be found between the straps of the pack and the main compartment for inserting a water reservoir. The straps on the pack are easily adjustable to fit your torso length. To adjust the straps, release the fastener between the water reservoir pocket and the back panel, and then reattach at the desired height. On the front of the left strap there is a convenient small mesh pocket that is perfect for a snack or a GPS tracker. This pack also has some unique features such as a whistle that is built into the chest strap and the stow-on-the-go trekking pole attachment. It even has dual ice tool loops with bungee tie offs. Given all these added features and a total weight of less than two pounds, the Osprey Tempest 30 is an ideal candidate for many adventures.
