Looking to bag a peak in the Sawtooth Range that has awesome views?

Galena Peak is the perfect choice if you are ready for a challenging, steep hike with minimal scrambling and no requirement of technical skills. This hike takes you through gorgeous mountain landscapes and wildflowers.

Begin at Senate Creek TH just outside of Galena Lodge and follow the faint trail up through the Senate Creek drainage onto a forested ridge until you break out of treeline and begin the ascent up the final rocky ridge to the saddle. From there, you have approximately 300 feet remaining as you ascend up the saddle to the summit. Be sure to bring poles, plenty of water/snacks, and allow 4-6 hours to complete.
