Kaufman Camping Area is a small dispersed campground where you can camp for free with a 10 day stay limit. The surrounding landscape is especially scenic, with striking mountains on both sides of the valley and beautiful Birch Creek flowing through the campground.

The main attraction here is Birch Creek and the fishing opportunities it provides. An abundance of brook and rainbow trout can be found here, as well as some brown trout and even bass.

The camping is standard dispersed camping. There are a selection of semi-established sites, most with a fire ring. Choose your site and practice leave no trace principles to keep it clean for the next camper.

There is a single vault toilet located at Kaufman, but no amenities otherwise.
