FLORA AND FAUNA

Pettit Lake is commonly known as a gateway to the Sawtooth Wilderness in Idaho, offering access to several hiking trails, including routes to Alice Lake and Toxaway Lake. The trailhead is a starting point for various outdoor activities, such as hiking, backpacking, and fishing in a scenic alpine lake setting.   • Campsites close to the lakes tend to fill up quickly, especially on the weekends.

  • Motorized equipment and mechanized travel (including bicycles) are not permitted within the designated wilderness areas.
