The Beaver Bay Wayside is a great place to park for those wishing to view the Beaver River Falls. The wayside is located on Lax Lake Road (County Highway 4) just off Minnesota Highway 61 in the town of Beaver Bay. It is a short walk from the wayside to the Highway 61 bridge over the Beaver River. There is a pedestrian walkway on the bridge. The view of the cascading waters of the Beaver River from the bridge is quite stunning. The Beaver River empties into Lake Superior after flowing under the bridge.

The wayside has a bathroom with flush toilets. There are picnic tables at the wayside. The Beaver Bay Wayside is fully accessible and dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Informational signs provide historical background about the area as well as information about several nearby trails including the Gitchi-Gami State Trail. The Gitchi-Gami State Trail can be accessed directly from the wayside.
