The Fall River Falls is a waterfall near Lake Superior that is about two and a half miles southwest of the town of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Some refer to this waterfall as Rosebush Creek Waterfall. This stunning waterfall is easy to access now that the paved Gitchi Gami Trail passes right by the falls. Visitors can take Gitchi Gami Trail on foot or by bicycle to reach the falls from Grand Marais or from the Cut Face Creek Wayside Rest. The distance to the falls is about 2.5 miles from either starting point. Visitors that do not wish to hike or bike that far can drive from Grand Marais along Minnesota Highway 61 and park on the shoulder. Look for the spot where the Gitchi Gami Trail moves away from the highway and park nearby. From here it is a short walk to the bridge over the Fall River which offers an excellent view of the waterfall as well as a view of the mouth of the Fall River as it empties into Lake Superior.
