The Lake Loop Trail is a short, level trail in the Sweetheart’s Bluff Nature Area which is west of downtown Grand Marais. This third of a mile long trail is wheelchair accessible; the trail is covered with a finely crushed granite giving the surface great traction. The trailhead for this trail is located at the west end of the Grand Marias Municipal Campground. There is parking available near the baseball field. Do not park in the parking spots intended for tent campsites. Look for the blue gate; there is handicap parking right by this gate.

This short stroll is easy to follow and takes visitors through the woods and the next to the shore of Lake Superior. There are several spots along the trail where the cobblestone shore of a beautiful cove on Lake Superior can be accessed. There is also a bench with lake views by the trail. Dogs are allowed on this trail, but must be on a leash.
