Charles Waters Campground is a nice campground located a couple miles off Highway 93, between Missoula and Hamilton Montana. Its location within the Bitterroot National Forest makes it perfect for outdoor recreation. Nearby you’ll find an interpretive nature trail, fire ecology trail, and several trailheads with hiking, biking and stock trails.

The campground features paved parking pads at all campsites. There are 27 total campsites including one double site, 4 pull-through sites, one bike and one horse site, as well as an ADA accessible site with electric hookup.

Campsites are nice and can accommodate large RVs or trailers (up to 70’ in length!). You’ll find a picnic table and fire ring at each campsite. Within the campground there are also vault toilets and potable water available.

The large Larry Creek Group Campsite is located a short drive from Charles Waters and can accommodate large gatherings. This site is reservable in advance on recreation.gov

All campsites at Charles Waters are not reservable and are first come, first served.
