The Waterloo - Cardiac loop is in the northern section of Allamuchy State Park.  The trailhead can be a little difficult as it is behind some farmland and no designated parking lot.  There is a dirt road at the trailhead and parking is permitted along the road.  The Waterloo trail (white markers) starts past a large gate.

Continue on the Waterloo Trail for one mile.  The Cardic trail (purple markers) will be on the right.  Trail markers are not as frequently posted along the Cardiac trail.  The Cardiac trail winds through the forest for 2 miles and then ends back on the Switchback trail (orange markers).  The Waterloo Trail parallels the Switchback trail on the right and it is very easy to return to the trailhead after getting back on the Waterloo Trail.
