Adjacent to the Cedar Creek area trails in Ruidoso, the Fitness Trail provides an easy, short looping path that can be enjoyed in warm or in snowy conditions.

Totallying 1.3 miles in length, the Fitness Trail follows a gentle gravel path as it climbs, and then hits the turnaround point and heads back with a gradual downhill. Along the way is fitness equipment, along with a few interpretive signs describing the birds and flowers that can be seen in the area.

The trail has a shorter quarter mile inner loop as well, allowing walkers and hikers to easily choose the distance they would like.

During snowy conditions, the trail is open to cross country skiers, with ski poles available for use for free provided by Ski Ruidoso Ski Shop which can be collected and dropped off just inside the trailhead gate.

Dogs and bikes are not permitted on the path, however horses are.

Those looking to add some distance and scenery to their hikes might opt to cross the street and explore the Cedar Creek trails.
