Forks Campground is located near the scenic Gila River. The campground area is a bit above the river, with a day use area down below and closer to the river. There are numerous recreational activities nearby, including hiking and fishing along the Gila, and exploring the nearby Gila Cliff Dwellings.

Forks Campground offers dispersed camping. There are a total of 7 “primitive” campsites here. Camping is free. Please be mindful of the 14 day camping limit.

All campsites at Forks are first come, first served. The campground doesn’t have much for amenities, not even picnic tables, although many sites do have fire rings. There are also vault toilets available on site. There is no potable drinking water at the campground.

Doc Campbell’s Post (4 miles up the road) has a small selection of camping supplies and groceries.
