Lower Scorpion Campground is located within walking distance of the fascinating Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. In addition to the cliff dwellings, there are numerous other outdoor recreational opportunities nearby including hiking and fishing on the Gila River.

Lower Scorpion Campground offers 7 campsites. These campsites are designed to be tent only sites and require a slight walk from your vehicle. There is however a large parking area that could possibly accommodate vans or small trailers/RVs.

There is no fee for camping here. Please limit your stay to 14 days. Reservations are not possible, but this campground usually doesn’t fill up.

At each campsite you’ll find a picnic table and a fire ring. There is also a vault toilet and potable water at the campground.

Doc Campbell’s Post is located about 4 miles to the south and offers a small store with some camping supplies and groceries if needed.
