The NMSU Fitness Trail is a short walking trail located adjacent to the New Mexico State University Alamogordo campus that offers a couple easy looping paths with some views of the valley below.

The trail is wide dirt and is a great path for families, runners and joggers. Located at a higher point of Scenic Drive, the trail offers a wide perspective across the valley sloping away below.

The trail is easy, with less than 100' of total elevation change over its course. There are three distinct loops in the path, allowing hikers to choose a distance that fits their desired length.

Parking is in a paved lot beside the trailhead. There are no amenities of any kind at the parking area or along the trail, and there is no shade or protection from the elements here. Dogs are welcome if leashed.
