The Prairie Wildflower Nature Trail is a half mile loop located in Lake Wissota State Park near Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The trail is a mowed path through a prairie habitat featuring tall grasses and native wildflowers. The trail is quite flat making it situatable for most abilities. The trailhead is located 0.2 miles southwest of the entrance to the park’s campground. There is parking for a few vehicles by the trailhead. Since this trail is located in a state park, a fee must be paid to enter the park. A day use or annual permit can be purchased at the Park Office. Dogs are allowed on this trail but must be on a leash eight feet long or shorter.

During the summer colorful wildflowers that can be seen while hiking this trail including coneflowers, lupine, yarrow, blazingstar, butterfly weed, black-eyed Susan, rattlesnake master, and goldenrod. There is an informational sign by the trailhead that explains the features that prairie plants have that allow them to survive in dry and windy conditions.
