The Hammon Grove Trail is a well defined path that circles Hammon Grove Park in Browns Valley.
Hikers can park at the shady picnic area immediately upon entering Hammon Grove Park. From here, signs direct you to the gravel path as it parallels the edge of Dry Creek. A short distance down, a floating walkway offers the chance to walk down to the water level and over to Sycamore Ranch Camping and Day Use Area, however the hiking trail itself continues through Hammon Grove Park.
The trail climbs a short slope and begins tracing the disc golf course as it reaches the park's Interior parking lot. Signs direct hikers to the continuation of the trail. At about three quarters of a mile from the start, the path reaches the banks of the fast flowing Yuba River, which is rocky but offers a chance to dip your feet and cool off in the river.
The trail continues on the far side of the parking lot, rounding a small bluff and winding back toward the trailhead to complete the loop.
Much of the hike is exposed and dry. The picnic area and trailhead have bathrooms but no drinking water. There are tables and benches located along the hike. At 1.4 miles, the hike follows a well maintained gravel path and is an easy yet diverse path to get out on.
Hammon Grove Park is open during day use hours only.
