Gold Camp Reservoir is a body of water located in Stratton Open Space near Colorado Springs. This reservoir is often accessed via the Chamberlain Trail. This trail will travel around most of the reservoir. This out and back hike is 2.25 miles long with 305 feet of elevation gain.

This hike starts at North Cheyenne Cañon Park & Stratton Open Space Trailhead off of North Cheyenne Canyon Road. There are no amenities at the trailhead. Begin hiking west on Chamberlain Trail. After 0.1 miles, you will come to a junction and turn right to stay on Chamberlain Trail. You will be walking amongst coniferous trees and shrubs. Continue following Chamberlain Trail as it switches back up a slope. After another 0.4 miles of uphill hiking, you will catch your first glimpse of Gold Camp Reservoir to the east. You will also have views of rock walls to the west. The trail opens up a bit here as you walk across a hill that overlooks the reservoir. 

After 0.2 miles, the trail flattens out 0.2 miles after this, you will come to a junction. Turn right here to stay on Chamberlain Trail. You will now be hiking on a trail lined with coniferous trees. As you hike, you will have periodic views of Gold Camp Reservoir to the south. Another 0.2 miles will bring you to a junction. This is the end of the trail. You will be in between Gold Camp Reservoir and South Suburban Reservoir. From here, turn around and retrace your steps to return to North Cheyenne Cañon Park & Stratton Open Space Trailhead.

Stratton Open Space is open for hiking year round from 5am-9pm. There are no associated fees to hike here. Dogs are allowed on this trail. You may also encounter mountain bikes on this trail.
