The Sun Valley View Loop is a short trail the climbs out of Sun Valley Regional Park, quickly hitting a couple peaks that have panoramic views of the surroundings.

The trail begins with a climb up a set of wooden steps before following a boulder-lined single track path. upon reaching a fenceline marking the park boundary, the route join a dirt road that sees use from ORVs, equestrians and mountain bikers, wrapping around some juniper dotted hills and continuing the uphill path. Most of the hike is completely exposed, so prepare for the sun and wind before setting off here.

Several boulder outcroppings, as well as the peak, offer elevated views that stretch out across Sparks, Reno and the valley, with Mt Rose, Peavine Peak, and the Pah Rah range viewable from throughout the hike.

From the peak, the route continues to wrap around the hills. The trail system back here is vast, and it's possible to further explore the ORV and mountain biking paths here to lengthen your hike. Otherwise you can loop around and begin the gradual - though steep at times - descent back toward the park boundary and the single track trail back to the parking area.

The park has additional trails to explore, as well as covered benches and grills, along with other features.

Sun Valley Regional Park is open daily from 8am until sunset.
