Utladalen Camping is located about 3 kilometers northeast of Øvre Årdal. Its location makes it a great place to stay for hikers who want to explore and hike Utladalen, which is known as The Valley of Waterfalls. This valley includes Vettisfossen, which is the highest waterfall in Norway that has not been regulated. It has a free drop of 275 meters (about 900 feet). The campground is located by the Utla River, which is a good river for trout and salmon fishing.
This campground includes spots for RVs and trailers as well as an area for tents. These areas are grassy and open. Like many campgrounds in Norway there are no designated camping sites, so during busy times, campers and tents will be close together. The campground can accommodate over 50 tents and campers.
The campground also has 14 cabins available, 6 of which have a bathroom and shower. For those who stay at one of the other 8 cabins, the campground’s service facility building is available for showering and bathroom use. Free Wi-Fi is available.
