Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada located within both California and Nevada. The lake sits at an elevation of  6,225 feet, encompasses 122,160,280-acres and is the largest alpine lake in North America. The depth of the lake is 1,645 feet making it the second deepest lake in the United States (Crater Lake in Oregon is the deepest).
 

With a picturesque mountain setting and panoramic views all around, it makes sense that Lake Tahoe would be a popular recreation and tourist destination. The area features your round activities from winter sports to summer outdoor recreation, and scenery enjoyed throughout the year.
