The trail to the Wendover Vista is an easy hike along a sandy ORV track the ends on a stone plateau with views across the two Wendover border towns of Nevada and Utah.

At 1 mile round trip across relatively flat gravel, this trail combines ease of accessability and views in an area that doesn't have too much to offer in terms of trail infrastructure. The walk begins just down a short dirt pullout from West Wendover Blvd, and follows a track along the east face of a rocky hillside. The track is easy enough that dedicated ORVs can drive it, however the rocky surface and some extremely narrow curves prevent it from being easily accessible by passenger vehicles.

The walk gives an opportunity to see some of the interesting rock formations on the landscape. This butte is a 12 million year old formation that once stood not far above the surface of the massive Lake Bonneville inland sea. These days it offers views of the casino town that has emerged after the waters receded.

The trail can be a bit slick in places, but soon comes to a wide flat area with views across the towns and stretching out to the salt lake plains.

Our suggestion is bringing lights and walking this trail on a warm night when you can pause at the end and take in the city lights in the distance.

From there, return to the pullout trailhead.

There are no amenities of any kind at the trailhead or along the walk. This is pretty barren land on the outskirts of the town. Those looking for a little bit more of a technical hike can also check out the nearby Wendover Overlook trail.
