This loop hike is located in the northern section of Clarence Fahnstock Memorial State Park.  From the parking along Trout Brook road, follow the Trout Brook Tail (yellow markers) for .6 miles.  The trail ends when it reaches a junction with Wiccopee trail (blue markers) and the Clove Creek trail (white markers).

Take the Clove Creek trail for 1.4 miles.  This trail has recently been widened and graded and is a very easy hike. The Clove Creek trail ends when it reaches the Fahnstock trail (blue markers).  Turn left onto the Fahnstock trail.  The section is an old forest road for a short distance.  After about one mile, the trail meets a junction with the Charcoal Burners trail (red markers).

Turn left on the Charcoal Burners trail. This trail is a bit overgrown with tall grass in areas but still easy to follow the trail.  There is one very good view point looking east about one mile down this trail.  After the view point, the trail continues another .75 miles until it ends on the Trout Brook trail.  Turn right on the Trout Brook trail and the trailhead is .5 miles away.
