Starting from a small parking area on Fishkill Rd in Cold Spring, take the Lone Star trail (blue disk markers) for .3 miles where the Split Rock trail (red disk markers) starts of on the left of the trail.  Both trails end on the Nelsonville trail but the Split Rock trail is a steep direct approach.  Climb up the Split Rock trail for .3 miles where it ends on the Nelsonville trail (green markers).

Turn left on the Nelsonville trail, which is a wide, rocky forest road.  Contiue for nearly one mile until a junction with the Undercliff trail (yellow markers).  The Undercliff trail is steep and offers several good viewpoints of the Hudson River and Storm King State Park.  After 1.3 miles, the Undercliff trail intersects with the Washburn trail (white markers).

To continue the loop, turn right on the Washburn trail and begin a climb up Bull Hill.  More great views along the way to the top of Bull Hill.  The Washburn trail ends in 1.25 miles.  The Nelsonville trail begins where the Washburn trail ends.  Keep right and follw the green markers for .65 miles.  On the left is the Lone Star trail.  Turn left and follow the Lone Star trail for one mile and the end of the hike.
