Farewell Bend Park is located alongside the Deschutes River, just off Southwest Reed Market Road. The park is a popular destination featuring trails and river access.

One of the main attractions is the Deschutes River Trail, which runs through the length of the park and beyond. Using this trail you can walk up to the Old Mill District and beyond, or you can cross the river via footbridge to enter Riverbend Park, or continue upstream along the South Canyon Trails.

A unique boardwalk leads out alongside the river through a natural marsh area. This is a great place to soak in the views or birdwatch, and there are some interpretative plaques so that visitors can learn more about the area.

Within Farewell Bend Park you’ll also find a playground (with a “lumber mill” theme) and a small bouldering area, as well as a large reservable picnic shelter. There are also many benches and picnic tables scattered throughout the rest of the park.

Lastly, there is a small boat launch at the southern end of the park. This is a popular place for kayakers to put in, and is an especially popular starting point for people floating the river during summer months.
